A little help along the way.

Folders and what they contribute

Understand folder controls, archiving and deletion, and why an entry may be absent from AI features.

Reviewed

Folders organize related entries and control how those entries contribute to different MindDrive features. Use a few broad folders first, then add focused ones when they help you review a subject separately.

Create or edit a folder

Open Write to create a folder. Add its name and, if useful, a short description. Use the folder's menu and choose Edit to change its details, tags or participation settings later.

Understand the three settings

Mood Tracking lets entries in a folder contribute to mood-based views. Insights & Analysis lets the folder contribute to Home Insights, folder analysis and generated writing prompts. AI Chat & Search lets entries appear in General Memory and Smart Search.

These controls have different jobs. Turning off AI Chat & Search excludes the folder from those broad searches. Deep Analysis can still use the folder when you explicitly select it. These switches do not mean that all processing of an entry is disabled.

If an entry seems absent, also check whether it was submitted and whether its processing has finished. Filters can hide an otherwise available result.

Archive without deleting

Use the folder menu and choose Archive. Archived folders do not appear in normal Write, Review, Home Insights or Mood views. They can still appear in General Memory and Smart Search while AI Chat & Search remains on for the folder.

Switch Write to its Archived view when you want to find an archived folder. Use its menu and choose Unarchive to return it to the normal views. Archiving is not a way to delete its entries or disable every AI use.

Delete a folder

Delete permanently removes the folder and every entry inside it. The confirmation explains this before deletion. If you are unsure, archive it instead or export your entries first.

Folder tags and entry tags are separate. Learn how they combine in tags and favorites.
