Write, save and revisit an entry
Create an entry, keep unfinished writing as a draft and confirm an interrupted save before trying again.
Reviewed
Write an entry inside a folder, then submit it when you want it to become part of your journal. Save Draft keeps unfinished writing for later. Saving a draft and submitting an entry have different effects.
Create and submit
- Open Write and choose a folder.
- Type your entry and use the editor's formatting controls as needed.
- Check the entry date and time, especially when writing about an earlier day.
- Add entry tags or a favorite if useful.
- Use Submit entry and finish the confirmation.
An entry can contain up to 30,000 text characters. If it is too long, shorten it or split it into another entry. Voice transcription and imported text still need to fit the entry limit.
Keep a draft
When leaving unfinished writing, choose Save Draft in the Unsaved Changes dialog. Keep Editing returns to the editor. Discard Changes discards the current changes, so read the dialog before choosing it.
Return to the folder in Write to continue. A draft indicator identifies folders with unfinished writing. Unsubmitted drafts do not appear in Review, search, Insights or Chat. Keep the original device available while resolving a draft or pending save.
If a save is not confirmed
MindDrive may keep your draft and explain that the save needs confirmation. Follow the retry or check action shown for that save. Do not paste the same entry into a new submission while its earlier save is unresolved.
A submitted entry can also remain pending while its analysis finishes. That is different from an unsubmitted draft.
Edit or delete later
Find the submitted entry in Review, open it and use its editing controls. Confirm your edits before leaving. If an interrupted-edit recovery dialog appears, review the preserved text and available actions carefully.
Read the deletion confirmation before removing an entry. If you want to keep a copy first, use the export guide.
